Jeff Peterson’s research focuses on the interaction between agriculture and natural resources. He has studied the relationship between environmental policies and trade, the rate of farmland development at the rural-urban fringe, and voluntary incentive-based policies for farmers to manage the environmental resources on their own farms. Much of his current research is concerned with water use and water policy in the Great Plains. He teaches microeconomics and graduate courses in resource and environmental economics.
