TITLE: Business Manager, full-time, 12-month position

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION:

  • Manage department fiscal operations including daily management and accounting of all income and expenditures.
  • Manage and track the operations of appropriated, restricted fee, grant, and KSU Foundation accounts.
  • Control revenue and expenditure of funds for state organized research, OOE, Federal Hatch and regional research, state and federal extension projects. Monitor and review day to day expenditures.
  • Enforce fiscal management policies and procedures as mandated by KSU and the State of Kansas. Review and implement changes in procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Budget management and accounting for affiliated programs and centers.
  • Grant Coordination: manage account expenditures, adjust budgets, cost-sharing, procurement of equipment, all while meeting grant deadlines and requirements.
  • Human Resource Management: manage payroll for faculty, staff and students.
  • Create an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality while working in a multi-cultural setting.

TITLE: Agricultural and Natural Resource Economist – Extension Associate - Office of Local Government, Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

TITLE: Program Assistant, Full-time position with the Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University

LOCATION: Manhattan, Kansas

RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will do background research, interact and communicate with numerous and diverse individuals, event planning, provide leadership in departmental events, coordinate special committees and meetings on behalf of the Department Head, facilitate all basic functions (academic, business, personnel, and etc.) of the Department and coordinate administrative process for promotion and tenure, sabbatical leaves, leaves without pay, retirements, terminations, and etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Completed Bachelor’s Degree, three years of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit.

TITLE: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Hiring 2 separate positions)

LOCATION: Department of Agricultural Economics, Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas

DESCRIPTION: The Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University seeks to fill two tenure-track Assistant Professor Positions. The positions are each budgeted at 60% teaching and 40% research or 40% extension. There is flexibility in the allocation of effort based on departmental needs and candidate experience.

Responsibilities include: Develop and deliver internationally recognized teaching and research or extension programs. Teach three classes a year at the undergraduate and graduate levels; the specific appointments will be based on department needs and applicant’s areas of expertise. Advise and direct research by undergraduate and graduate students. Attract grant funds to support teaching and research/extension programs. Create an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality while working in a multi-cultural setting.
